Iran: Parliament agrees to restriction on women's travel

The spokesman for Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Hossein Naghavi-Hosseini, said Parliament was persuaded to consider the government's proposed bill after hearing reports from experts about problems with the current regulations.,

He added, however, that the bill, which proposes that single women up to 40 years of age wishing to leave the country or acquire a passport should have permission from their parent or legal guardian, and if there are no guardians, then the court may issue a permit, has not become law yet.
