The Role of Money in Politics, Women and leadership

In my country most women are not educated and they do not own any property. This has made it difficult for them to assume leadership positions especially in politics. We are heading for elections in the three months' time. Many women cant vie for posts because getting even the nomination fee is hard. Our system is such that votes are given to those with money. I keep wondering of ways in which the situation can be reversed because the rich who have money are not necessarily good leaders but since they are the ones who can afford to be there we have to put up with the poor leadership. This has to change. The question is how?

How can we get more women to win seats in the legislature when our elections are so commercialized and winners must have money to buy votes? Majority of the citizens are poor and depend on elections to put money in their pockets/purses and food on their tables. Women stand a poor chance to win good number of seats or even get the 30% seats in legislature that we are advocating for.
Can someone suggest some ways of beating such systems or practices?

I think in general it is common situation in most parts of the world especially in least develop and developing countries. Genuine leaders would not emerge instantly but it is a slow process. One of the ways is to persuade women with some educational background to contest elections and win. There is a major role to be played by other women by casting vote and helping them to win seats in the parliament. These set of women can then make some change in the system which will help the rest to follow. The other way is organize women groups and collect money and submit nominations for few of their genuine women leaders to contest and support fully for her campaign. This will also help to get few women to parliament.
