Women in politics roundtable

The Embassy Of Liechtenstein & Women In International Security

A record number of women ran for US office in 2018. What implications does this trend have for future female participation in politics, both here in the United States and around the globe? Join Women in International Security and the Embassy of Liechtenstein on the morning of Wednesday, November 28th for a roundtable discussion on female political participation. With a panel of expert scholars, we will explore both the obstacles and opportunities shaping the electoral landscape for women and consider what role political parties, states, and civil society can play in opening up the field to female candidates.

Panelists

  • Dr. Gabrielle Bardall, International Foundation for Electoral Systems
  • Gwen Young, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars
  • Saskia Brechenmacher, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
  • Asha Castleberry, American Security Project
  • Ileana R. Valle, Creative Associates International
