Gender Protocols And Their Implementation
Will another international protocol lead to better representation of women in politics or something else needs to be done to bridge the existing gap between the adoption of policies and their implementation? Here is an interesting article 50/50 Gender Protocol Set For Adoption that discusses the possible signing of the Gender and Development Protocol at the upcoming Summit of the Heads of States of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in August 2007.
It would be great to hear from the iKNOW Politics members about the impact of adoption of such protocols on their respective countries/regions and the commitment of the governments to put such documents into action.
