This paper analyzes access and participation of women in Lesotho's 2002 elections. It also describes history of gender equality in Lesotho, and highlights international and regional agreements serving as a tool for promoting women in politics.

This report presents the results of the workshop entitled "Dialogue on Political Parties and Governance in the SADC Region." It contains information on the functioning and structure of political parties in five countries from the South African Development Community (SADC): Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. The purpose of this research is to try to understand the functioning of these parties in an effort to identify their strengths and weaknesses.
