On October 8, 2008 iKNOW Politics was presented to participants of the Club of Madrid Africa Women Leaders Forum in Brussels. Audience members included four former Heads of State, including H.E. Chandrika Kumaratunga, former president of Sri Lanka, as well as key women Ministers, Members of Parliament and civil society leaders from African countries.

I recently participated in a workshop on special measures for women organized by the Pacific Island Forum Secretariat on 25-26 September in Port Moresby and I would like to share some of thoughts and

iKNOW Politics was presented to a study visit of the Women's Caucus of the Assembly of Kosovo on September 16-18 2008 in Oslo, Norway. The visit was sponsored by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Mission in Kosovo and hosted by the Oslo Governance Centre of UNDP.

The iKNOW Politics team is opening a request for quotes (RFQ) to retain a technology partner to maintain and further develop our very successful International Knowledge Network of Women in Politics (iKNOW Politics) online network and to provide a set of related supporting technology services over an initial contract period of 12 months.

On July 9-10 iKNOW Politics participated in the UNDP roundtable, Women in Arab Parliaments: Progress, Stagnation or Regression? iKNOW Politics plans to launch an Arabic version of the Network’s website in the Fall of 2009.

iKNOW Politics was presented at a workshop during the Second Biennial Women’s Studies Conference in Izmir, Turkey held June 12-14, 2008. The conference focused on the impact of gender quotas and positive action measures on women in politics and public life.

On the eve of International Women’s Day, the International Knowledge Network of Women in Politics (iKNOW Politics) was launched in Latin America and Europe.
