AFRICA IN DEMOCRACY AND GOOD GOVERNANCE (A.D.G.)
ADG is a registered international pan-African charitable not-for-profit making Organization with the following aims and objectives:

To engage in matters relating to Human Rights, Democracy and the promotion of Good Governance in Africa;

To lobby for the reforms in governments;

To campaign against corruption and impunity;

To dialogue with and encourage governments, those in authority and Civil Society as well, to uphold the Rules of Law, to guarantee the security of lives and properties and to ensure a profound respect for Human and People’s Rights.

HIV/Aids; to promote awareness programs relating to HIV/Aids; conduct counseling and support programs and lobby legislation for the rights of People Living with HIV/Aids.

Women’s right; to promote and protect the rights of women in Africa, and implore strategies for the advancement of their socio-economic, cultural and political rights of women through civic education, conferences, workshops and seminars.

Children’s right; to initiate and lobby for support to address the needs, and ensure the rights of children are protected under various national and international human rights instrument and convention. To build capacity and mechanisms to facilitate the provision of education, social, financial and spiritual support to children orphaned by HIV/Aids and other vulnerable diseases.

Environmental right; to campaign against all forms of environmental degradation and exploitation, and to lobby for the legislation of the environment.

Prisons and Detention; to organize a sensitization programs for prison officials, to rehabilitate prisoners and promote international standards on prison administration and detention facilities.

Members of ADG hail from various backgrounds in civil society and serve in capacities ranging from consultants on human rights issues to lawyers.

It has members with immense experience and qualification in trainings covering human rights and development issues;
Its members also bring with them the potential of extensive local and regional network of academics and practitioners in these area.

ADG envisions a continent characterized by a strong and vibrant culture of human rights, democracy and good governance founded on the principle of justice and equality, Open society and public participation.

Mission of ADG
The mission of ADG is to contribute to the promotion and protection of human rights, democracy and the promotion of good governance in Africa by initiating and advising on programs and policies which will strengthen institutions responsible for the protection of these sacred values in order to ensure human security, sustainable development and lasting peace.
