Malawi the Warm Heart of Africa
As a young Malawi professional woman working with the UNDP Country Office, I am privileged to be closely collaborating with the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC). Subsequent to the last Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in 2004, the MEC in collaboration with several donor organizations signed off on technical assistance to the MEC through the "In-between the Ballot Box" Project. This project is focusing on the implementation of institutional reforms, capacity development, and interventions to strengthen the operations of the MEC.
I am currently supporting the programmatic delivery of the project by being a liaison based at UNDP and reporting to the Programme Analyst on Elections. It is my hope that I will use this blog to attract accomplished and experienced women in politics from all over the world to learn from their achievements and vast knowledge. I would eventually like to forge a career in the Electoral Reforms and I am interested in the opportunity to network.
