Women's Caucuses
Women comprise an increasingly large number of parliamentary seats. In many countries, legislatures are forming women’s caucuses to increase solidarity amongst female representatives and directly address legislation relating to women’s issues, though many question their efficacy. Do these caucuses strengthen the position of women parliamentarians, or do they serve to further isolate and alienate them? Is anyone familiar with examples of parliaments where women’s caucuses either helped or hurt female representatives?
