This report presents the findings of the African Political Party Finance Initiative, which gathered information on party financing in twenty-two countries in Africa, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, and Asia. The purpose of this report is to determine if there are common themes about the sources, use, and management of funds related to securing elected office. It discusses public financing of political parties, the importance of party reform, and the necessity of extending party financing laws beyond fundraising regulations.
