Discussion Circle Menu

This circle is for discussion of an ongoing series of online surveys about Education for Sustainable Development. The surveys are based on the eight UNESCO themes defined for the "UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development." The eight themes are: 1. Education for gender equality 2. Education for health promotion 3. Education for environmental stewardship 4. Education for rural development 5. Education for cultural diversity 6. Education for peace and human security 7. Education for sustainable urbanization 8. Education for sustainable consumption The fourth survey in the series (Version 1.6) has just been completed. As of 31 July 2009, 513 persons had taken the V1.6 survey. This increased to 542 as of 5 August 2009. You can download the V1.6 database and analysis reports via the following links: ESD Survey V1.6 Database http://www.pelicanweb.org/esdspreadsheetv16.xls ESD Survey V1.6 Summary Report http://www.pelicanweb.org/esdsummaryreportv16.html# Summary of Analysis Report for ESD Survey V1.6 http://www.pelicanweb.org/solisustv05n08page1.html Analysis Report for ESD Survey V1.6 (see Section 2) http://www.pelicanweb.org/solisustv05n08page1.html#section2 FYI, the following is the notice launching V1.7. This one is longer (32 questions) but only 16 are required, and these are both ranking questions. The other 16 are optional, and entail explaining your reasons for the degree of difficulty you assign to the obstacles identified in V1.6 and previous versions. The greatest value of this project are not the numbers, but the insights (sometimes rather surprising!) of those who take the time to share the fruits of their experience. As Shakespeare once wrote .... "Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more."
