Women in political parties engaged in fundraising activities

One of the key elements that hampers women's participation and leadership in political parties is money or the lack of it. Money is a big issue to women who embark on a political career out of passion or the love of being of service to others. Politics has always been a male dominated terrian and I would say that to a large extent, the women who have decided to take on the men or work alongside by participating in political affairs are brave. One just has to think of the family set up and take it to the higher level of national politics to have the motivation to want to contribute to making the world a better place. In order to overcome many obstacles, women in politics need to be financially independent.

I strongly believe that women in politics should engage in meaningful and effective fundraising activities in order to preserve their integrity and respectability. Politics is often referred to as a "Dirty Game", because of all the underhand methods used to win positions, and it is much worse for the women who do not have sufficient funds to assist them with their campaigns. Men often take advantage of this fact and that is why women should take up training sessions on raising funds for campaigns and projects when there is an opportunity, so that they use the knowledge to become well equipped to play the game at an equal footing with the menfolk. Most importantly is to learn the art of financial discipline so that whatever funds are raised, such funds are used for the intended purpose. If we work hard to get as many trained women as possible in leadership positions within political parties who then aspire for political office at both local and international levels, we would have moved many steps towards fighting corruption and that would definitely make this a better world.
