This case study examines the status of Iraqi women after the 1995 Beijing International Conference on Women. It identifies the obstacles that continue to hamper their development, and looks at the situation of women with respect to several topics: empowerment, education, health, violence, armed conflict, labor, authority, lack of development mechanisms, human rights, the media and the environment.
