Dear Member of Parliament,

The Women in Parliaments Global Forum (WIP) is delighted to invite you to the Annual Summit 2013, taking place at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium from 27 to 29 November 2013.

This exceptional meeting coincides with the very day the women of New Zealand became the first in the world to vote in a national election, 120 years ago. Today, WIP is the only global forum offering female Parliamentarians from all over the world the opportunity to get together and be part of a special event.

Attendees will be female Parliamentarians from around the globe, allowing the conference participants to discuss the most pressing issues on the global agenda from unique perspectives and to take part in political dialogues that reflect the influence of female decision-makers in today‘s world.

As an independent, international and non-partisan foundation, WIP is working to advance society by building a network between Women in Parliaments. The structure of the Summit reflects this objective through keynote speeches, panel discussions, break-out sessions and networking opportunities.

A Gala Dinner and a ‘Festival of Cultures‘ serves to complement the formal parts of the Summit and contribute to the event‘s special occasion for female members of Parliaments to meet and exchange ideas in the interest of advancing society. Furthermore, the ‘WIP Awards‘ will honour countries for leadership in closing the gender gap. In the concluding townhall meeting, the new ‘WIP Index‘ will be conjointly discussed, and will thereupon serve as a powerful tool to monitor the world‘s condition in empowering female decision-makers in Parliaments.

Be sure not to miss this opportunity to discuss crucial issues with colleagues and leaders from around the globe, to benefit from your colleagues’ experiences and to present your views to an international audience.

In the spirit of advancing society, we look forward to welcoming you to the Women in Parliaments Global Forum 2013!
