Gender based discrimination and sexism affects many young women and girls on a daily basis globally. Although most if not all of of these incidents take place on an individual level, it is important for all of us r=to recognize that this is as a reult of the patriarchical structure of our socities. An influencial and supportive way of addressing such issues is building safe and inclusive feminist communities where all women can share their stories and learn about the commonalities shared between us and our experiences. A peer to peer understanding of sexism and how it systematically affects us can be an empowering step towards the fight against inequality. This can happen on university campues, peer groups, online forums and any safe space where young women can reach a broader understanding of the structural barriers and attitudes that discriminate against women and hurst all genders.
