Australia: Sisters can do it without quotas

16 April 2012 - NOW that International Women's Day has come and gone and the sisterhood has had its annual whinge about how badly women are treated by men, politically, it might be apposite to examine the validity of their claims.

I am prompted by a column in The Sydney Morning Herald.

"Australians have witnessed their first female prime minister survive a leadership challenge but women's representation in influential leadership positions remains stubbornly low. Women make up less than a quarter of members in the House of Representatives."
