‘When one woman is a leader, it changes her. When more women are leaders, it changes politics and policies.” - Michelle Bachelet

120 years ago, on November 28th, 1893, the women of New Zealand became the first women in the world to vote in a national election. To mark this milestone, the Women in Parliaments Global Forum (WIP) will host, for the first time, its annual summit in the European Parliament. WIP’s mission is to advance society by using the collective strength and ability of over 9,000 female Parliamentarians across the world.

To connect Parliamentarians attending the Conference and those who are not able to participate, iKNOW Politics is organizing an online discussion on “Reshaping Society through Female Leadership” to collect ideas, inspiring stories and case studies on how an increase in female leadership can shape a more equal society.

Q1. How are women leaders making a difference?

Q2. Give us an example or more of women that have made a difference through leadership.

Q3. What characteristics are unique to women in their capability to lead and change society?

Q4. What would you like to see changed in your society that would improve women’s lives?

The WIP 2013 Annual Summit invites 9,000 female Parliamentarians in the world to gather in a unique conference, which will in fact make the WIP Annual Summit an unprecedented occasion to discuss the issues on the Global Agenda from the perspective of female political leaders. The programme outlines an outstanding selection of speakers for the Keynote presentations, at the five Interactive Plenary Debates, the WIP Award Ceremonies and the Working Groups, including Nobel Prize Winners, Heads of Government, European Commissioners, Ministers, Academics and high profile representatives of Civil Society and Philanthropy. Along with the support of the European Parliament, WIP is also cooperating with UNDP, UN Women, the World Economic Forum, IPU, the World Bank, iKNOW Politics, NDI, EY, Transparency International and others, who will all be represented at the WIP Annual Summit. Participants, speakers, and supporters of the WIP Annual Summit 2013 can be assured of a truly global audience. More information about the WIP Annual Summit 2013 you can be found here: www.wip-gf.net/events

Thank you in advance for your comments, inputs and feedback.
