This report explores public opinion in Burundi. Based on 40 focus group discussions with nearly 500 Burundian participants, the report examines attitudes and concerns of Burundian citizens about the 2010 electoral period.

This consolidated response highlights various types of quotas adopted in African countries and provides details on the implementation of quotas under different electoral systems. The response also includes several annexes with data on quotas based on country and on quota type.

This video depicts how women crossed political parties and ethnic groups to become a unified force. Dramatically under-represented in the political forum in their country, as a unified entity women paved the way for their political participation and voices to be heard.

This report outlines key areas for mainstreaming gender in conflict or potential conflict situations. It argues that attention must be given to early-warning protection and assistance, the role of women in peace processes, and the full participation of women in post-crisis reconstruction.
