National Human Development Report Slovak Republic 2000: Poverty, Social Exclusion and Marginalisation

This report explores the issues of gender equality and poverty in the Slovak Republic. It analyzes the situation of women in society and concludes that the participation of women in the decision-making areas of the economy and politics is low compared to their proportion in society. The report also points to the disturbing trends of persistent poverty, unemployment and social exclusion. It concludes that if these human development issues are not addressed, Slovakia's competitiveness and development will be retarded.
