This report was designed in response to Security Council Resolution 1325 in an effort to document the specific impact of war on women and to explore the potential of involving women in peace processes. It provides examples of women in embattled regions who overcame the odds and contributed to the safety and well-being of their communities. It also offers recommendations for achieving greater progress in the area of peace and conflict resolution.
