Supporting Women’s Leadership and Participation in the Reconstruction of Afghanistan

This paper describes UNIFEM’s work in empowering women in Afghanistan since early 2002. UNIFEM's activities aimed at supporting women’s leadership and participation in decision-making, strengthening the Ministry of Women’s Affairs in Afghanistan, and establishing women's Development Centers.
