Beijing +20 National Review, Vanautu

The one day national consultation to feed into the national report for the Beijing +20 occurred on
Wednesday 8th of May 2014 from 8am until 4.30pm at the Le Lagoon Warwick Hotels led by the
Department of Women’s Affairs with technical and financial assistance from the United Nations
Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). Refer to annex for
agenda. Stakeholders from within the government, civil society organizations, the media and
academia were invited to participate in this important consultation. Represented during the
consultation were Ministry of Justice & Community Services, Ministry of Education, Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, Department of Women’s Affairs, Vanuatu National Statistics Office, Vanuatu Police
Force, Shefa Provincial Health Office, University of the South Pacific, Secretariat of the Pacific
Community, UNDP GEF Small Grants Project, UN Women, Vanuatu National Council of Women, Live
& Learn Environmental NGO, and Care International. Refer to annex for full list of stakeholders.
