Preventing and Responding to Gender-based Violence in Middle and Low-income Countries: A Global Review and Analysis

This review focuses on two of the most common types of violence against women: physical intimate partner violence and sexual violence by any perpetrator. It provides definitions, recent statistics, health consequences, costs, and risk factors relating to gender-based violence. It also analyzes good practice initiatives that have addressed laws, policies, institutional reforms, and individual behavior change strategies aimed to eliminate these forms of gender-based violence.
