Balance Up Leadership is a global effort to build the platform for women’s leadership through advocacy, using the evidence base and tools designed to promote gender parity in all sectors and at all levels. Balance Up leadership aims to work with partners committed to equality of opportunity and action to change policies, systems and perceptions. Their partners include women leaders themselves, community organizations, universities and national and international actors.
Balance Up leadership aims to ensure balance and parity in leadership roles by transforming systems and institutions, build lasting networks between current and emerging leaders, raising the profile of critical issues across all sectors, and advance inclusive policies and research.
One of their key initiatives is a data platform that shows which policies and practices will ensure women rise into leadership positions across all sectors of government. This data and index capture the breadth of leadership positions women hold across functions and how many women are at the highest-ranking positions in leadership.
