This report reviews the progress made in South Africa since tthe launch of the Women's Environment and Development Organisation (WEDO) campaign, "50/50 by 2005: Get the Balance Right!" It discusses the increase in women's political representation after the 2004 elections and identifies the factors that continue to inhibit women's political participation.
