Canada: "Take our Girls to Vote" Campaign

Equal Voice is pleased to launch a new campaign entitled “Take our Girls to Vote”. Along with partners from The Dominion Institute, Girl Guides of Canada, TakingITGlobal, Student Vote, and YWCA Canada, this campaign asks Canadians to consider taking a young girl in their life to the polls with them on Election Day. The purpose is to address the issue of voter apathy in youth and nurture political interest in young girls. Teaching girls to value voting is an important step toward ensuring that as women, they feel fully entitled to participate in all levels of the electoral process, from casting a ballot to running for office.
