All women candidates from KP lost election by huge margins, Pakistan

PESHAWAR: A woman contender from Fata and a couple of others from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa made headlines in national and international media after jumping into the election arena, but none of them could win any seat either in national or the provincial assembly.

 

Badam Zari, candidate for NA-44 Bajaur, Nusrat Begum, candidate for NA-34 Lower Dir, and Musarrat Shaheen, candidate for NA-24 Dera Ismail Khan, made headlines after they announced to contest the May 11 general elections. Not only the local media, but the international media covered the stories of the three women candidates but none of them could poll even 200 votes.
