GAMBIA: GAMCOTRAP & Co. Train Women On Leadership

Women from five West African countries converged at the Paradise Suites Hotel from 24 to 28th March 2014 to receive training on leadership skills. The five day training of the women activists from diverse walks of life was organised with the support of Women's Empowerment And Leadership Development For Democratisation (WELDD) and Women Living Under Muslim laws (WLUML) in collaboration with GAMCOTRAP .

Gambia: 'Women Are the Major Players in Politics'

Madi Jobarteh, the programme manager of The Association of Non-governmental Organisations (TANGO) has said that women are the major players in politics but quality participation of women in politics is needed.

He made these remarks during an interview with this reporter at his office in Fajara, after his institution held a two-day workshop on gender quota in politics under its Women in Politics Project funded by the American Embassy in Banjul.
